Our Project aimed to imbibe the spirit of Science in younger learners. This project was an art-aided initiative, which used hands-on activities, and arts and crafts, to explore the three broad strands of Science - Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Using visual arts as a medium to introduce these three subjects, we got students to engage in the learning process to the best of our abilities, making the session fun, memorable and informative!

Chemisphere
We had the amazing opportunity to partner with Missionaries of Charity, the NGO founded by Mother Teresa in one of the original branches at Nirmala Centre to join hands with their mission to provide opportunities and relief to marginalized communities.
We conducted an educational session on the subject of Chemistry through the use of hands-on experiments, to make learning fun and engaging for the kids!

LEND-A-HAND
Lend-a-Hand, focused on helping the sisters of the charity in taking care of the elderly community, as we danced to old classics, hand-fed some of the physically challenged members and interacted with them in creating an environment they would feel included in.

FUNDRAISING & DONATION DRIVES
Given the strength and number of members (40 elderly and 15 students), we were working with, we ran a fundraiser through the circulation of a Google Form to acquire donations, the proceedings of which were collected to be utilized in the acquisition of food packets for the elderly and books and stationery bags for the students.
The entirety of the donations were used in acquiring donation materials and rightfully given to members of Missionaries of Charity.
The target collected amount was set in a way that no extra money would be left behind after acquiring the materials necessary for our cause.

Baking cakes!
We donated hand-made tea cakes that were low in sugar to fit and respect their health. We felt this would be an intimate and affectionate outreach instead of buying store-bought ones which are usually high in sugar.
